Light-Cure Resin Cement

Best for: Thin, translucent restorations such as Emax veneers, esthetic overlays, or anterior inlays where the curing light can fully penetrate the material.

Why we use it:Light-cure resin cement offers superior control during placement, extended working time, and excellent esthetic results due to minimal color shift over time.

⚠️ Must have a clear path for light to penetrate. Not suitable for thick or opaque restorations like full zirconia crowns.


Dual-Cure Resin Cement

Best for: Full-contour zirconia crowns, thick ceramic inlays/onlays, and cases where light cannot fully reach the internal surface.

Why we use it:Dual-cure resin cement combines the benefits of both light- and self-curing processes. It cures chemically where the light can’t reach, ensuring a strong and complete set.

⚠️ Requires proper isolation and often additional steps like microetching, priming, and use of bonding agents for optimal performance.


Other Cement Options We Use:

🧪 Durelon (Polycarboxylate Cement)

Used primarily for PFM crowns, this cement is gentle on the pulp and offers mechanical retention.

🧪 Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC)

Releases fluoride and is great for temporary crowns or cases with moisture concerns.

🧪 RMGI (Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer)

A hybrid cement often used for zirconia crowns with strong retention form.
